Natural Elegance

The lobby overlooks Manhattan House’s one acre private garden, one of the largest in New York City. Beautifully framed by the glass-enclosed lobby, the garden was redesigned by Sasaki Associates with new plantings and walking paths, and was renovated by Plant Fantasies in 2016. Two sculptures, Trinity and Red Gateway, by Dutch-born artist Hans Van de Bovenkamp animate the gardens. Over the past 45 years, sculptor Van de Bovenkamp has completed more than 100 major commissions for museums, civic organizations, corporations and private collectors.
